In Loving Memory of Yolanda Loya Castillo:
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Yolanda Loya Castillo, who departed this life on May 14, 2025, at the age of 74. Yolanda was born in Beeville, TX on December 11th, 1950, to Reynaldo and Clara V. Loya.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Joe Ray Loya, and her sister-in-law, Gerda Castillo.
Yolanda was a devoted wife to Andres Castillo, her loving husband of 55 years. Together, they built a life full of faith, love, and family—values she carried in everything she did.
She was also the proud mother of four children: Larry (Dela) Castillo, Melissa (Noel) Zapata, Leticia (Sam) Duran, and Abigail (Otilio) Vasquez all of Beeville, Texas. She cherished her role as a grandmother to nine grandchildren (Amanda Cagle; Taylor, Derek, & Colt Castillo; David (Gabriella) Ybanez; Arve, Damien, & Konner Vasquez; & Savannah Duran) and great-grandmother to three great-grandchildren (Grace, Emmett, & Clair), who brought endless joy to her life.
She is also survived by her sister, Diana Ponce; her brothers-in-law, Bernardino (the late Gerda) Castillo and Frank Castillo; sister-in-law, Pauline Loredo and nine nieces and nephews.
Yolanda was known for her warmth, love, and unshakable faith. Her home was always open, her table always full, and her heart even fuller. She found joy in the simple moments— playing bingo, preparing meals for her family, and being present for every milestone for her grandchildren, big or small.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and strength that will live on through those she touched. Her unwavering devotion to her family will never be forgotten.
A visitation will be held from 3-8 pm on Monday, May 19, at Oak Park Memorial Funeral Chapel. The holy rosary will be recited at 7 pm. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 am on Tuesday, May 20, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Beeville Memorial Park Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers are David Ybanez, Derek Castillo, Colt Castillo, Arve Vasquez, Damien Vasquez and Konner Vasquez. Honorary pallbearers are Chris Ponce, Cody Ponce, Craig Ponce and Joe Rey Loya.
Though she is no longer with us, her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to her niece, Sondra Moreno and to all the nurses of Avir of Beeville and New Century Hospice.
