Victor C. “Chino” Contreras, Jr. passed away on September 25, 2024, at the age of 78. He was born to Victor and Consuelo Contreras. He worked in construction for over 40 years as a Rodbuster. Chino was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Chino married the love of his life, Estolia Maldonado. They were happily married for 60 ½ years and together they raised four children.
Chino is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Estolia Contreras; son, Johnny Contreras, daughters, Guadalupe “Lupita” Ybarra (Cruz), Victoria Harris (John), and Carmen Collins (Matthew); siblings, Diana Contreras, Dorothy Contreras, Hilario “Lalo” Contreras, Daniel “Turkey” Contreras, Pedro “Tape” Contreras, and John Simon Contreras; ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Pallbearers will be John S. Contreras, Daniel “Turkey” Contreras, Pedro “Tape” Contreras, Rudy Contreras, Ralf “Wolf” Contreras. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Hilario Contreras, Randy Contreras, Dylan Moreno, John Victor Contreras, Douglas Aguilar, Sonny Hernandez, Jeremy Serrano, and William Halcomb.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 29, 2024, from 5 to 8pm at Oak Park Memorial Funeral Chapel. The Holy Rosary will be recited at 6pm. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, September 30, at 10am at St. James Catholic Church with Fr. Jacob Valayath as celebrant. Burial will follow at Our Lady of Victory Cemetery #2.
