Tomas Y. Puentes

SKIDMORE – Tomas Y. Puentes, 87, passed away on January 13, 2024. He was born on September 18, 1936, in Clareville, Texas to Francisco and Maria (Ybarra) Puentes. He married Carolina Hernandez in 1952. He was a retired farmer.

     He is preceded in death by parents; wife, Carolina H. Puentes; one daughter, Ofelia Puentes; three sons, Remijio Puentes, Francisco Puentes and Ramiro Puentes; granddaughter, Michelle Gutierrez; grandson, Andrew Anthony Puentes; great grandson, Fabian Trevino, and a son-in-law, Encarnacion Padilla.

     He is survived by three sons, Reynaldo Puentes, Juan (Ylsa) Puentes and Tomas (Sylvia) Puentes; five daughters, Belia (Lindy) Galloway, Delia Padilla, Tomasa (Arturo) Arredondo, Teresa (Rene) Rodriguez and Josie (Mario) Rodriguez; one brother, Juan Puentes and a sister, Rosa Borjas. He is also survived by 34 grandchildren, 78 great grandchildren and 13 great great grandchildren.

     A visitation will be held from 3-8 pm on Thursday, Jan. 18, at Oak Park Memorial Funeral Chapel. A prayer service will be held at 7 pm. The funeral services will be held at 10 am on Friday, January 19, with Pastor Joe Fuentes officiating. Interment will follow at the Lagarto Cemetery in Lagarto, Texas.

     Serving as pallbearers are Francisco Puentes, A J Arredondo, Ramiro Puentes, Cipriano Trevino, Robert Puentes, Guillermo Castillo, Ryan Hinojosa, and Marcus Hinojosa.
