BEEVILLE – Teresa Montez Garcia, 71, passed away on June 6, 2023. She was born on November 23, 1951, in Aransas Pass, Texas to Esmerijildo and Emiliana (Rodriguez) Montez. She had worked as a sterilization tech at Christus Spohn Hospital.

     She is preceded in death by her parents, Esmerijildo Montez and Emiliana Flores; stepfather, Robert Flores, Sr; one sister, Rachel Montez; her brother, Robert Flores, Jr; a niece, Sonia Martinez; one nephew, John Michael Rivera and her beloved mother-in-law, Paula G. Garcia.

     She is survived by her ex-spouse, Benselado Garcia; daughters, Rosalinda (Terry) Barker, Belinda (Andrew) Wessels, Santitos (Willy Shimer) Garcia and Dolores M. Garcia; two sons, Grabiel Garcia, and Benselado M. (Mary V) Garcia; her siblings, Micaela Martinez, Mary Jane (Raul) Meza, Gil (Neida) Montez, Dolores M. Puga, Rebecca Martinez, Ruben Flores, Rita Flores, and Ramon (Meredith Wicker) Flores and her sister-in-law, Ida Flores. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

     A visitation will be held from 3-8 pm on Friday, June 9, at Oak Park Memorial Funeral Chapel. A rosary will be recited at 7 pm with Deacon Roger Rosenbaum officiating. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 am on Saturday, June 10, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church with Fr. Ysaias Estepa as celebrant. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Victory Cemetery #2.

     Serving as pallbearers are LeRoy Martinez, John Luke Barker, Xavier Aleman, Paul Wessels, Andrew Wessels, Jr., Darren Garcia, Benselado Garcia, Jr. and Derrick Wessels.

     Honorary pallbearers are Grabiel Garcia, Elvira Gaitan, Andrew Wessels, Terry Barker, Willy Shimer, Josie Guerra, Robert Martinez, Benselado Garcia, Michael Barker and Christopher Barker.
