Sarah G. Jaure

Sarah (Guerrero) Jaure, 79, of Beeville, Texas, passed away on June 18, 2026, surrounded by her family. 

Sarah was born September 12, 1946, raised in Helena, Texas to Abraham and Anastacia “Tacha” (Villegas) Guerrero. She married Paul Adolfo Jaure on August 30, 1969.

Sarah earned her Bachelor of Science in Education with a minor in English at Southwest Texas State University. Later, she completed her Master of Science degree at Texas A&I University. Sarah began her teaching degree at San Marcos ISD for one year before embarking on her 40-year career at Beeville ISD. She started as a kindergarten teacher at Jackson, moved up to be a sixth-grade teacher at Madderra-Flournoy before transitioning to administration as a vice principal at Moreno Junior High and ultimately served as the principal at Madderra -Flournoy and Thomas Jefferson Elementary.

Sarah was a devoted educator, respected leader, and beloved member of the Beeville community whose life’s work was dedicated to serving children and shaping future generations. For Sarah, education was not simply a profession, it was her calling and passion.

Throughout her distinguished career as a teacher, mentor, and principal, Sarah touched countless lives. She believed every child deserved the opportunity to succeed and worked tirelessly to provide the resources, encouragement, support, and confidence they needed to reach their full potential. To many students, she was more than an educator; she was a source of guidance, stability, and unwavering belief.

Sarah was also deeply committed to supporting and developing educators. She mentored countless teachers throughout their careers, offering wisdom, encouragement, and leadership that helped shape generations of passionate instructors. Many credit her influence, patience, and confidence in them as the foundation of their success today.

Under her direction as principal, her campus became the first school in Beeville to earn an Exemplary rating, achieving the highest standards in every accountability indicator in the State of Texas. Her school achieved this distinction three times under her leadership. While she took great pride in these accomplishments, she always credited the teachers, aides, counselors, custodians, and cafeteria staff, because she believed it took everyone working together and giving their best to create an environment where students could learn at their highest level.

Her impact reached beyond her campus through her service. Sarah served as the President of the Beeville Faculty Association and was an active member of the Texas Elementary Principals and Supervisors Association, where she provided professional development, mentored aspiring principals, and advocated for excellence in education across the State of Texas. She inspired educational leaders to serve with integrity.

Those who knew Sarah will remember her not only for her accomplishments, but for the kindness, generosity, and humility with which she achieved them. She led with her heart, always placing the needs of others before her own and never seeking recognition for her efforts. Her legacy lives on in the thousands of students she inspired, the educators she mentored, the leaders she developed, and the community she helped strengthen.

Sarah made it a priority to be involved in the community. She served as an Elder at the First Presbyterian Church of Beeville, was a proud member of the Beeville Art Association, Beeville Home Arts Club, Do Nothing Club, Presbyterian Women, and Wednesday Luncheon Club. Sarah enjoyed entering photography, baked goods, and floral arrangements in the Bee County homemakers show.

Sarah spent her retirement traveling abroad, enjoying occasional trips to the Beau, reading non-fiction, managing the family cattle operation, and spending time with her family. Some of her favorite things were traveling to New York annually to shop and watch the Rockettes and the newest Broadway shows.

Sarah was preceded in death by her parents, Abraham and Anastacia Guerrero; her husband, Paul Jaure; and a son, Jeffery Abraham.

Survivors include their son, Paul Jaure; daughter, Jana Jaure (Tom) Kennelly; grandchildren, Meagan Jaure (Eric Gonzalez), Taylor Jaure, Paul Aaron, Alissa, Emily, and Lucas Jaure and Sarah Kennelly; two great-grandsons, Grayson Taylor and Kasen Paul Jaure Gonzalez; siblings, James Michael Guerrero (Cindy) and Dianne Espinoza; brother-in-law, Jaime Jaure; and sister-in-law, Irma Rivas.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, at Oak Park Memorial Funeral Chapel in Beeville. 

The funeral service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, June 25, at the First Presbyterian Church in Beeville. Interment will follow at Beeville Memorial Park where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Paul.

Pallbearers will be Tony Cortez, Armando Puga, Omar Jaure, Todd Espinoza, Thomas Kennelly and Scott Taylor.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Annette Sanchez, Susan Dirks, Debbie Fulton, Sylvia Estrada, Martha Stovall, Olga Alaniz, Linda McKay, Betty Pawlik, Beth Shive and Madderra-Flournoy Faculty and Staff.
