Sandra Pruett

Sandra Pruett, 84, passed away peacefully in her home on January 26, 2025, after living bravely with Dementia for several years. She was born on June 11, 1940, in Houston, Texas to George and Sherrill (Sanders) Cimerhanzel.

Sandra was a graduate of Corpus Christi State University ( now Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi). She was a lifelong artist and craftsperson who loved being with family and friends.

She is survived by her husband, Leo Houston Pruett Jr. of Beeville; her son, L.  Houston (Margaret) Pruett III of Victoria; six grandchildren, Nicole and Leo “Bear” Pruett IV, Malana Jones, Alexandria (Michael) Kirby, Emily Carabajal (Timothy) Herrera and John Ross Carabajal (Cheyenne Mason) and two great-grandchildren, Liam Carabajal and Alayna Herrera. She is also survived by her furry companion, Janel.

She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Leann Carabajal.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 2nd from 5 to 7 pm. at Oak Park Memorial Funeral Chapel. A graveside service will be held on Monday, February 3rd at 11 am at Fiskville Cemetery in Austin, Texas.

Pallbearers will be Michael Kirby, John Ross Carabajal, Leo “Bear” Pruett, Cedric Buck, Raymond Wood, and Cody Wood. Honorary pallbearers are Skip Hoffman, Jim Guthrie, and Henry Torralva.

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to New Century Hospice and staff: Sara Davis, Brittany Harris, and Delicia Tapia; and to her wonderful caregivers: Terri Garcia, Brittany Dominguez, and Traci Puebla.
