Richard G. Almendarez, 54, of Beeville, passed away on October 10, 2025, in Beeville, Texas. He was born on September 12, 1971, in Jourdanton, Texas to Victoriano (Victor) and Guadalupe (Lupe) Almendarez. He is engaged to Melissa Sheen. Richard worked as a manager of O’Reilly Auto Parts, AutoZone and NAPA Auto Parts. He had also been employed with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and for The GEO Group. His first real job, he will tell you, was fence worker alongside his dad and brother Raymond as well as hauling hay.
Richard’s hobbies included day and night fishing and spending time with his family. Having breakfast dates with his fiancé and Yolanda. After breakfast Richard and Yolanda would head to the office, as he called Starbucks Coffee shop. Richard gave his life to Christ and was baptized a reborn Christian.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Victoriano (Victor) and Guadalupe (Lupe) Almendarez Jr.; older brother, Victoriano Almendarez, III.; grandparents, Dolores (Lolo) and Desideria (Challela) Garcia and Victoriano (Tano) and Simona Almendarez.
He is survived by his fiancé Melissa Sheen; daughter, Vanessa (Austin) Vaught; son, Matthew Valenzuela; grandchildren, Lyndee Kay, Bryar Lee, Paige and Eva; his twin brother, Raymond (Virginia) Almendarez of Beeville; three sisters, Lori (Roland) Camareno of Corpus Christi, Dolores (Russell) Hinojosa of George West and Yolanda (Joe) Benavides of Beeville; nieces and nephews, Taylor, Russell, Tyler, Riana, Austin, Bailey, Victoria, Caleb, Raymond and Joseph and great nieces and nephews as well, BJ and Desiree.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm on Wednesday, October 15, at Oak Park Memorial Funeral Chapel. A chapel service will be held at 10 am on Thursday, October 16, with Pastor Dean Richey officiating. Interment will follow at the Waldheim Cemetery in Tynan, Texas.
Serving as pallbearers are Tyler, Austin, Raymond, Taylor, Joseph and Caleb. Honorary pallbearers are Raymond, Austin, Matthew, Russell, Bailey, Victoria and Riana.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Rose Garza for the time and friendship you gave to our brother Richard. Also, to Starbucks, Brandon and the crew, for always welcoming Richard and Yolanda. You made our day.
