PLEASNTON – Ricardo Flores Vela, 72, formerly of Beeville, passed away on May 23, 2022, in Pleasanton, Texas. He was born on January 16, 1950, in Beeville, Texas to Juan and Teresa (Flores) Vela. He was retired from the medical field as a registered nurse and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Luis Vela.
He is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Ann (Jerry Salinas) Vela of Pleasanton and Margaret Vela (William) DeSpain of Freer; two sons, Richard (Cindy) Vela of Bloomington and John Luis Vela of Victoria; one brother, Juan F. (Delia) Vela, Jr. of Cibolo and one sister-in-law, Elena Vela of San Antonio. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
A holy rosary will be recited 10:00 am on Saturday, June 11, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church. The funeral mass will be celebrated immediately following the rosary with Fr. Isias Estepa as celebrant. Interment with full military honors will be held at Beeville Memorial Park.
