Ray V. Hernandez, Sr.

BEEVILLE – Ray V. Hernandez, Sr., 79, of Beeville, passed away on June 2, 2018. He was born on Feb. 27, 1939 in Beeville, Tx to Pablo and Adelita (Vasquez) Hernandez. He married Antonia Nilda Vasquez on July 9, 1963 in Beeville, Tx. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp and was retired as a sales manager from the Goodyear Auto Service Center in Beeville.

  He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Antonia Nilda Hernandez; a son, Ray Hernandez, Jr. and a grandson, Seth Gabiel Aguirre.

  He is survived by one daughter, Roxanne (Bryan Loya) Aguirre of Beeville, Tx; one son, Randy (Marina) Hernandez of Rosenberg, Tx; two brothers, Herman Hernandez of Beeville, Tx and Paul (Mary) Hernandez of Katy, Tx; nieces, Nora (Rene) Casarez  of Edinburg, Tx, Eva (Feliciano) Cavazos of Beeville, Tx and Hortencia “Chacha” (David) Benavidez of Port Lavaca, Tx. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

  Visitation will be held from 3-9pm on Tuesday, June 5, at Oak Park Memorial Funeral Chapel. A rosary will be recited at 7pm. The body of Mr. Hernandez will lie in state at 9am on Wednesday, June 6, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10am with Fr. Richard Gonzales officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.

  Serving as pallbearers are Raul Aguirre III, Garrett Enrique (Realee) Aguirre, Cordell Ray Aguirre, Philip Cavazos, Gary Cavazos and Jerry Casarez. Honorary pallbearers are Andy Hernandez, Gabriel Hernandez, Adam Hernandez, Eric Hernandez, Brody Hernandez, Cody Hernandez and Rene Casarez.
