Nancy Jean Sciba

BEEVILLE – Nancy Jean Sciba, 71, passed away on June 5, 2023, at her residence. She was born on January 14, 1952, in Beeville, Texas to John Henry and Dorothy Mae (Priest) Bass. She married Kenneth P. Sciba on January 31, 1970, in Beeville, Texas. She had retired as a medical transcriptionist from Christus Spohn Hospital.

     She is preceded in death by her parents, John Henry, and Dorothy Mae Bass and one sister, Carolen Giles.

     She is survived by her daughter, Tanya (Michael) Cantu of Beeville; one son, Michael Sciba of Beeville; one brother, Johnny Ray Bass of Beeville; four grandchildren, Joe (Jessica Clifton) Sciba of Destin, Florida, Jonathan (Lorena Hernandez) Sciba of Midland, Brooke Ivory Sciba, and Sierra (Eric) Garcia both of Beeville. She is also survived by sixteen great grandchildren, three nieces and one nephew.

     A visitation will be held from 3-8 pm on Wednesday, June 7, at Oak Park Memorial Funeral Chapel. A chapel service will be held at 10 am on Thursday, June 8, with Pastor Tim Stowe officiating. Entombment will follow at Beeville Memorial Park Cemetery.

     Serving as pallbearers are Joe Anthony Sciba, Jonathan Paul Sciba, Cody Ray Bass, Michael Joshua Cantu, Ross Cuellar, and Darrell Bowers.
