Michael Lee Peck, 77, passed away peacefully on the afternoon of August 27, 2025, at his home in George West, Texas, with his wife by his side. He was born on June 26, 1948, in Muskogee, Oklahoma, to Jim and Sue Peck.
Mike graduated from William Travis High School in 1967. Shortly after, he was drafted into the U.S. Army, where he served until his honorable discharge in 1971. On November 8, 1986, Mike married Nita Kelly in Pflugerville, Texas. He worked for Southwestern Bell for 29 years before retiring, then continued serving his community at GWISD for ten years as both a school bus driver and substitute teacher. He officially retired at the age of 70. Mike’s greatest passions in life were his family and fishing. He had a gift for bringing joy to others, always quick with a joke and a smile.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Sue Peck, and his in-laws, Harlan and Juanita Kelly.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Nita Peck; his daughter, Elizabeth Coughlin (Tony); his sons, Kyle Peck (Katherine) and Cody Peck; his brothers, Mark Peck (Brandey) and David Peck (Lori); and his five beloved grandchildren, Thomas, Caden, Matthew, and Grace Coughlin, and Harlan Peck. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
Family and friends are invited to the Viewing and Visitation on Sunday, August 31, from 4:00p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Oak Park Memorial Funeral Home (4599 US-181 Business, Beeville, TX 78102).
