Melissa Ruth Maldonado

BEEVILLE – Melissa Ruth Maldonado, 51, passed away on Oct. 3, 2021. She was born on July 18, 1970 in Beeville, Texas to Manuel and Jesusa Linda (Rodriquez) Maldonado. She had worked as a corrections officer, for over 12 years, with Texas Department of Corrections in Beeville.

     She is preceded in death by her mother, Jesusa Linda Rodriquez; maternal grandparents, Victor S. and Elodia T. Rodriguez; paternal grandparents, Frank and Fermena Maldonado.

     She is survived by her father, Manuel (Griselda Verduzco) Maldonado of Beeville; one sister, Valerie Rose (John) Vasquez of Beeville; one brother, Victor M. (Monica Cabrera) Maldonado of Beeville; two nephews, Patrick Prieto of College Station, Texas, and Alejandro Martinez of Beeville. She is also survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

     Visitation will be held from 3-8 pm on Wednesday, Oct. 6, at Oak Park Memorial Funeral Chapel. The holy rosary will be recited at 7 pm. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 am on Thursday, Oct. 7, at St. James Catholic Church with Fr. Jacob Valayath as celebrant. Interment will follow at Beeville Memorial Park.

     Serving as pallbearers are Roland Rodriguez Sr., Roland Rodriguez Jr., Marty Garza III, David Garcia III, Randy Lee Beltran Jr., and Austin Salazar.
