Maria Noemi Gray

Maria Noemi Gray was born September 2 1934 in San Perlita Texas to Maria Torres and Fortunato Rodriguez. She grew up in Raymondville Texas with siblings Manuel, Moses, Ruben, Eva, Olga, Norma and Nache. She set out with her brother Moses (Rod) to Detroit. She made Detroit her home, where she raised her sons Abelardo Anzaldua and Michael Gray. She worked as a bookkeeper for SER-Metro and retail for Sears Co.  A free strong minded spirit, she lived by the motto, "There's no stopping Noemi Gray." After retirement, she treated every day as a journey, traveling the countryside in her van with her bible and her beloved Roy.  She settled in Beeville Texas.  Strong in her faith, she peacefully crossed over on December 27, 2020 ready to meet the Lord and be joined with her loved ones. She was preceded in death by Rogelio, sons Abelardo and Michael, daughter-in-law Donna Gray, granddaughter Melanie Gray, great-grandson Abel Anzaldua Perez, parents, and brothers. She is survived  by her daughter-in-law Betty Anzaldua, grandchildren Chris (Tina) Anzaldua,  Edward (Deb) Anzaldua,  Carmen (Javier) Anzaldua, Louis (Breanna) Anzaldua, Jeanna (Ociel) Anzaldua,  Michael (Stephanie) Anzaldua, Elizabeth (Doug) Eilberg, and Kathy Gray, 28 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren, her sisters and extended family.
