Margarito "Mike" Fernandez

BEEVILLE – Margarito “Mike” Fernandez, 68, of Beeville, died on Dec. 18, 2019.He was born on June 10, 1951 in Beeville, Tx to the late Pablo Jose and Enriqueta S. (Saenz) Fernandez. He married Rafaela “Nora” Fernandez on Mar. 17, 1975 in Kaufman, Tx. He was retired from H-E-B Grocery in Beeville, where he had worked in the meat market department.

            He is preceded in death by two brothers, Pablo A. Fernandez and Baldemar S. Fernandez; sister, Rosa Lidia Coffeen and one nephew, Fernando Coffeen.

            He is survived by his wife, Rafaela “Nora” Fernandez; daughter, Melissa (Lee) Padilla of New Mexico; four sons, Michael (Lucy) Fernandez of San Antonio, Pablo Jose (Mari) Fernandez and Johnny Fernandez both of Beeville and Carlos (Fabiola) Fernandez of Alice, Tx; sister, Anna Ramirez Fernandez of Round Rock, Tx. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

            Visitation will begin at 4 pm on Friday, Dec. 20, at New Hope Christian Church. A prayer service will be held at 7 pm. Funeral services will be held at 1 pm Saturday, Dec. 21, at New Hope Church with Pastor Salvador Rincon officiating. Interment will follow at Beeville Memorial Park.

            Serving as pallbearers are Steven Garcia, Vicente Fernandez, Marco Fernandez, Ray Anthony Ramirez, Justin Gonzales and Thomas Lee Coffeen.

            Honorary pallbearers are all H-E-B partners and his brothers and sisters of New Hope Christian Church.
