Louis Lawrence “Larry” Misuraca, 81, passed on to be with the Lord on November 4, 2024 in Corpus Christi, Texas. Larry was born in Memphis, TN, on November 29, 1942 to Frank and Linda (Miliari) Misuraca.
Larry spent his childhood surrounded by his large and loving Italian family and many friends; he formed a lifelong love of trains and spent hours watching them with friends and collecting model trains. He also loved playing football and was a valuable player on his jr. high and high school team- he won a scholarship to the University of Tennessee after graduation. Larry had many professions throughout his life. He served in the Air Force for a time, managed and owned several restaurants in Austin, TX, and then became a salesman for commercial and residential lawn equipment. This brought him to Corpus Christi where he met the love of his life, Arlene (Chatham) at First Baptist Church; they married in 1994. They were active in their church and served there together faithfully for 25 years as directors for their bible study department. Larry loved his family and enjoyed getting together with them for family meals; he was usually outside at his grill cooking Memphis pulled pork and serving it with all the fixings plus his famous carrot cake! Larry dearly loved his pet labradors- Dixie Rose, Dixie Joy, and Katy; they accompanied him everywhere. He liked to keep busy, loved to travel to Colorado to ride the trains, or visit his family in Memphis, and fish with friends in Arkansas. He was always ready to help; a faithful friend and loved his Lord. Larry was a blessing to all who knew him.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Linda Misuraca and his sister, Jennice (Misuraca) Dowda.
He is survived by his wife, Arlene Misuraca, brother, John Ditto of Memphis, TN, brother, Lester Ditto (Leah) of Memphis, TN, niece, Lisa Dowda of NY, niece, Lindsay Ditto Tilson of.
