Leonte T. Cantu

Leonte T. Cantu, 82, passed away on June 20, 2026, in Pearland, Texas. He was born on October 1, 1943, in Matamoros, Mexico to Leonte Salinas Cantu and Rosa Maria (Torres) Cantu. He had retired as a bricklayer.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Gaytan Cantu; one son, Juan a. Cantu; daughter-in-law, Gracie Cantu; two brothers, Juan and Ruben Cantu and one sister, Elida Cantu.

He is survived by his children, Rose (Jesse) Dominguez, Roberto (Rosa) Cantu, Ruben (Sandra) Cantu, Ymelda “Melly” Cantu, Maria Jones and Leonte Cantu, Jr.; grandchildren, Gloria Cantu, Yesenia Cantu, Mya Young, Galilea Young, Steven Dominguez, Klarissa Dominguez, Robert Cantu, Jr., Rebecca Cantu, Ricardo Cantu, Sara Cantu, Alex Cantu, Alexi Jones, Andrew Cantu and Arianna Cantu.  He is also survived by one sister, Elvia Herevia and 21 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held at 8:00 am on Saturday, June 27, at Oak Park Memorial Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 10:00 am with Fr. Jacob Valayath officiating. Interment will follow at St. Jospeh Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers are Yesenia Cantu, Steven Dominguez, Ricardo Cantu, Alex Cantu, Alexi Jones and Andrew Cantu.
