Karen Kay (Hughes) Greiner of Swinney Switch, Texas went to her heavenly home on March 5th 2022.
Karen was born in Grinnell, IA on October 19, 1938 to Edward and Dorothy Hughes. Karen attended PanAm Travel School in Omaha, Nebraska. Lived in New York and Chicago. Karen married Leroy Greiner in Grinnell, Iowa on June 6th, 1957. In support of her husband’s military career, Karen raised her children while stationed in multiple locations across North America. Settling in south Texas Karen developed meaningful friendships and a passion for gardening and animals. Karen was a devoted member of the Catholic Church who dedicated her time to charities and prayer.
Survived by her five children. Sons: Shawn, Gregory (Michelle), Mark, Randall (Deborah) Greiner and daughter Cynthia Brookshire. Eleven grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren. And three great great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: parents Edward and Dorothy Hughes, Husband Leroy Greiner, daughter Tracy Greiner, sister Linda Hayes, granddaughter Amber Greiner, and Son in-law Joey Brookshire.
A Rosary and Funeral Mass will be held for Karen at Saint George Catholic Church in George West, Texas at 10 am on Friday March 11th, 2022.
