Juan Antonio DeLeon Obituary

Our beloved son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather was called home to be with our heavenly Father on January 21, 2024, at the young age of 60. Juan was born in Lamesa, Texas, to Celia Martinez and Juan De Leon on August 11, 1963. Juan married the love of his life, Mary Morin, on September 24, 1982, in Beeville, Texas. Juan enjoyed many adventures with his family, but his favorites included camping, fishing, and traveling. Juan had a smile that could light up a room and was the friendliest man you could ever meet. He was never asked to get off at the grocery store for a quick stop, because he knew so many people and stopped to talk, that trip would take forever. Juan worked as a Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist with the Corpus Christi Medical Center in Portland, Texas.

Left to live this difficult life without him are his beloved Mary, their children Hilda (Joe) Elizondo, Vanessa (Derek) Adkins, Anthony (Felicia) De Leon; his grandchildren Ariana (Zane) Elizondo, Anycia (Jonathan) Gutierrez, Joey Elizondo, Judah Adkins, Violet Adkins, Veil De Leon, and Esmeralda De Leon; Juan’s mother, Celia Rodriguez, his siblings, Luis (Brittney) De Leon, Ellie (Joseph) Castillo, and Angie De Leon; and Juan’s sisters-in-law, Mary Imelda Velasquez and Melissa (David) Martinez.

Juan is preceded in death by his father, Juan De Leon; his stepfather, Zaragoza (Rod) Rodriguez; and his parents-in-law, Victor and Melba Martinez.

Juan’s family will welcome visitors at Oak Park Memorial Funeral Home on Thursday, January 25, 2024, beginning at 3:00 pm. A prayer service will be held that evening at 7:00 pm with Pastor Benjamin Vannoy. A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 26, 2024, at 10:00 am with Pastor Benjamin Vannoy officiating. Interment will follow at Glenwood Cemetery.

Pallbearers for Juan’s service will be Brandon De Leon (cousin), Lionso De Leon Jr. (nephew), Casey De Leon (nephew), James Castillo (nephew), John David Baez (nephew), and Jeremiah Castillo (nephew). Honorary Pallbearers for Juan’s service are his grandsons Joey Elizondo and Judah Adkins.
