BEEVILLE – Juan T. Cantu Jr, 79, passed away on November 13, 2022 at his residence. He was born in Bee County, Texas on February 22, 1943, to Juan and Santos (Tapia) Cantu. He was a retired welder.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father; one son, Randy Cantu; two grandsons, Mikel Ames, and Joshua Cantu and one sister, Guadalupe Reza and nephew, Rolando Cantu.
He is survived by one daughter, Jeannette (Kenneth) Rosenbaum of Rosenberg; four sons, Jessie Cantu of Beeville, Frankie (Christina) Cantu of Richmond, Albert (Yvette) Cantu of Iowa Colony and Ruben (Kim) Cantu of Sugarland; two sisters, Sara Garcia of Alice, and Amparo Garza of Sinton; three brothers, Monico (Lupita) Cantu, Adolfo (Rosie) Cantu and Porfirio Cantu all of Beeville. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 pm on Thursday, Nov. 17, at Oak Park Memorial Funeral Chapel. A holy rosary will be recited at 7 pm. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 am on Friday, Nov. 18, at St. James Catholic Church with Fr. Jacob Valayath serving as celebrant. Interment will follow at the Ross Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers are Geronimo Cantu, Ramiro Garcia, Robert Cantu, Carlos Cantu, Chris Cantu, and Ramon Garcia.
