On Saturday, December 7, 2024, Joseph (Joey) Montemayor, 47, departed this life after a brief battle with cancer. He was a loving and devoted son, brother, husband, uncle and friend.
Joey was born in Hale Center, TX on May 23, 1977, and raised in Beeville, TX. He dedicated over 12 years of work with Flint Hills Resources. Joey’s joys in life were golfing, cooking, and enjoying a few cold ones with those in his life. Aside from being a loving father, coaching both of his boys’ baseball teams and watching them grow was a blessing to his heart.
Left to cherish precious memories is his loving wife Sandy of 20 years; their two sons, Ian and Joshua; parents, Santiago (Jimmy) and Margarita Montemayor of Beeville, TX; brother, Timothy (Anne) Montemayor of Victoria, TX; In-Laws, Alfredo and Mary Rendon of Beeville, TX; brother-in-law, Alfredo Rendon Jr of Beeville, TX; sisters-in-law, Rita (Aaron) Gonzales of Buda, TX and Laura (Joseph) Soliz of Beeville, TX. He is also survived by five nephews, two nieces and two great nieces.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Pedro and Senaida Montemayor of Beeville, TX and Gilbert and Juanita Salinas Sr. of Lubbock, TX.
Serving as pallbearers will be Roman Montemayor, Marc Eeds, Roland Escobar, Tommy Taylor, Larry Favre, Chris Holmes, Eric Arrisola and Ralph Garcia.
Honorary pallbearers are Timothy Montemayor, Alfredo Rendon Jr, Aaron Gonzales, Joseph Soliz and Juan Robles.
His journey on earth has ended but the stories and memories he leaves behind will be forever told with smiles and laughter.
Visitation will be held from 3-8 pm on Friday, December 13, at Oak Park Memorial Funeral Chapel. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 1:00 pm on Saturday, December 14, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Beeville Memorial Park Cemetery.
