BEEVILLE – On January 22, 2024, Johnny C. (El Caballon) Landin was called home. He was born on August 24, 1947, in Sinton, Texas to Albilda (Maria) Cantu and Juan Antonio Landin. He proudly served his country as part of the United States Army and was a retired truck driver. He married the love of his life, Rita Bernal on March 20, 1967, in George West, Texas.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Rita Bernal Landin; mother, Maria Cantu Huerta; father, Juan Antonio Landin; one sister, Mary Mendoza; stepfather, Juan Huerta and a brother-in-law, “Indio” Martinez.
He is survived by a daughter, Laura Landin (Alex) of Beeville; a son, John Leonard “Lenny” Landin (Rachel) of San Antonio; grandchildren, Johnny Landin-Rangel, Lauren Rangel, Ciara Valverde (Jacob) of Beeville, Raelyn Landin, Ashtyn Landin and Brayden Landin of San Antonio, Bryce Gonzales of Beeville; one great granddaughter, Zen Krupinski and numerous cousins.
A visitation will be held from 3-8 pm on Friday, January 26, at Oak Park Memorial Funeral Chapel. The rendering of full military honors will be held at 3:30 pm. A prayer service will follow at 7 pm with Pastor Marcelo Garcia officiating. Interment of cremated remains will be held at a later date.
