BEEVILLE - John Edward Lopez, age 55, passed away peacefully May 19, 2021 after a courageous battle with Prostate Cancer. He was born on March 19, 1966 in Beeville, TX to Santana T and Maria V. Lopez.
John was a devoted Republican. He loved his nieces and nephews dearly, but his great nieces and great nephews were his world. He had a special bond with each of them.
John made many lifelong friends as he lived and worked in Dallas, Bishop, Brownsville, and San Antonio. He was recently employed with BCFS Health and Human Services in San Antonio, TX. He was a dedicated worker who always went to work no matter how he felt. The past few months he spent painting quite a few canvases. Painting was therapeutic for him and he was very talented.
He his preceded in death by his father, Santana T. Lopez.
John is survived by his mother, Maria V. Lopez; life partner, Andres Trevino-Casso; siblings, Joe H. (Dan) Lopez, Rose (Nick) Rivas, Jo Ann (Leo) Alvarado, Delia Lou Lopez; nieces and nephews, Jaime (Sara) Rivas, Angelica (Ted) Trevino, Adriana (Robert) Flores, Maria-Anita (Andrew) Carrizales, Roberto (Malisha) Alvarado, 11 great-nieces and 4 great-nephews.
Special thanks to Holy Savior Hospice of Corpus Christi, especially the nurses and CNAs for all their care and support during this difficult time.
Per John’s request there will not be a public memorial. The immediate family will be gathering for a Celebration of Life. A donation to the American Cancer Society in John’s name would be greatly appreciated.
