Joe B. Mendez

BEEVILLE – Joe B. Mendez, 79, passed away on August 27, 2022. He was born on November 25, 1942, in Parras de la Fuente, Coahuila, Mexico to Jesus and Victoria (Baldillez) Mendez. He had worked as the maintenance supervisor for the Beeville Housing Authority and had retired after 36 years of service.

     He is preceded in death by his parents; spouse, Guadalupe R. Mendez; one daughter, Isabel M. Pena and one sister, Guadalupe Mendez.

     He is survived by two daughters, Mary Lou (Salvador) Barrientes and Ruth Cano both of Beeville; two sons, Joe Louis (Mari) Mendez of Beeville and Mario Javier (Jessica) Mendez of Kenedy; two brothers, Jesse Mendez of Beeville, and Juan (Mary) Mendez of St. Charles, Missouri. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

     Visitation will be held from 3-8 pm on Tuesday, Aug. 30, at Oak Park Memorial Funeral Chapel. A prayer service will be held at 7 pm with Pastor Salvador Rincon officiating.
