Israel "Riley" R. Brionez

Israel R. Brionez, Sr. took the hand of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on February 10, 2025. 

Riley, as he was known by most, was born September 22, 1936, to Felipe Brionez and Jacinta Ramirez Brionez in Berclair, Texas. He married Maria Tijerina on October 3, 1953, in Beeville, Texas. He was a retiree from Civil Service at NAS Chase Field.  After retiring he worked part-time for Galloway Funeral Home and for Trevino Funeral Home.  He was a founding member of New Hope Christian Church as well as board trustee and advisor to the pastor. He was also a Sunday School teacher for many years.  Riley was Pentecostal.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Ismael R. Brionez, Sr., Isaac R. Brionez, one sister, Irene B. Gonzales and son-in-law, Armando Gomez.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 71 years, Maria T. Brionez, three daughters, Mary Esther Gomez, Betty Jean (Salvador) Rincon, Debbie Lou Adamez, and one son, Israel (Marissa) Brionez, Jr., all of Beeville, one brother, Daniel (Dahlia) Brionez of Houston, one sister-in-law, Ruth Brionez of Corpus Christi, and one brother-in-law, Isobel Gonzales of Beeville, 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and friends.

Visitation will be on Monday, February 17th at 10 a.m. at New Hope Christian Church. The funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. on February 17th, at New Hope Christian Church with Rev. Sam Montoya, Pastor of Sinai Pentecostal Church in San Marcos, Texas, officiating. Burial will follow at Beeville Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Carlos Adamez, Jacob Gomez, Josef Brionez, Jared Carrillo, David Rodriguez, III and Jason Perez, Jr.

Honorary pallbearers are Nathaniel Brionez, Ezekiel Rodriguez, Aaron Shirsefat, Joshua Perez, Jonah Perez, Evan Gomez, Jenifer R. Flores (Rudy), Roxanne R. Shirsefat (Moses), Rachel R. Perez (Jason), Amanda Adamez, Nichole A. Gallagher (Jason), Danica Brionez, RaeAnn Martinez (Ramon), Reina Flores, Taylor G. Ganceres (Francisco), Cynthia Gomez, Iliana Gomez, Myla Martinez, Embree Martinez, Remi Martinez, Xavier Ganceres and Felix Lopez, Jr.
