Hilario "Larry" Benavidez

     Hilario “Larry” Benavidez, 65, passed away on October 4, 2025, at his residence. He was born on October 3, 1960, in Beeville, Texas to Hilario and Susie (Estrada) Benavidez.

     Larry adored his grandkids, enjoyed tending to his plants and found peace in watching the birds outside his window. He had a laugh that could fill a room and a true gift for making others laugh as well.

     He is preceded in death by his parents, Hilario and Susie Benavidez, Sr., his brother, Rey Benavides and a brother-in-law, James Harrison.

     He is survived by his children, Sonia (David) Guerra, Samantha Benavidez, Sarah Benavidez, Lisa Gonzales and Noah Rodriguez; siblings, Yolanda Garcia, Olga Harrison, Delia Benavidez and Ram Benavidez. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

     Visitation will be held from 4-8 pm on Friday, October 10, at Oak Park Memorial Funeral Chapel. A rosary will be recited at 7 pm. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 am on Saturday, October 11, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church with Fr. Isaias Estepa as celebrant. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Victory Cemetery #2.

     Serving as pallbearers are Gavin Reyna, Martin Reyna, David Guerra, Gary Coffeen, Mario Ortiz and Joe Hernandez.
