Goldie Mae Banta, also known as Grandma Goldie, passed away on June 21, 2024, at her residence with loved ones around her. She was born on December 9, 1952, in Corpus Christi, Texas to the late Otto Melvin and Pricilla Jean (Fontana) Forster. She had retired as a public-school bus driver.
Goldie enjoyed camping and spending time with her family. She also liked playing cards and word with friends and was always there for her loved ones.
She is survived by two daughters, Amberlee Echo (Michael Steven) Johnson and Nancy Louise (John) Reddick; one son, Dallas Michael (Alicia) Banta; three sisters, Rebecca Jean Liden, Marlene Sosa and Leila (Walter) Andrews; one brother, Oscar (Therese) Shaffer; five grandchildren, Ashley Nichole Reddick, Casey Lynn Reddick, Nathaniel Lee Johnson, Zelica Jade Banta, and Paul Michael Johnson. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great grandchildren and life long best friend, Lucy Caha.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 4:30 pm on July 12, at St. Philips Episcopal Church, 311 E. Corpus Christi St., Beeville, Texas 78102.
