It is with profound sadness that the family of Gloria Diaz Rincon announce her passing on Monday, November 11, 2024, at the age of 75 years. Gloria was a Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Friend. Gloria was known for her warmth, generosity, and undeniably loving spirit she brought into the world.
Gloria was born on February 14, 1949, a Valentine’s baby, in Mineral, TX to Pedro and Trinidad Diaz. She attended Bee County College where she met the love of her life Reynaldo Rincon. In April of 1969, Ray and a friend were walking around the campus when he noticed Gloria. Ray introduced himself and soon after, they would meet in the campus SUB to talk and get to know each other. They were married on December 26, 1970.
Gloria was employed with Bee County College/Coastal Bend College for 34 years as the Executive Assistant to many a College President and Secretary to the Board of Trustees. In 2013, she received the Western Regional Professional Board Staff Member Award in Seattle, Washington. She loved filling their yard with plants and colorful flowers and capturing special moments in photos. And even when sick or in pain, she never faltered in caring for her loved ones more than she did for herself.
Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, Pedro and Trinidad Diaz, Sisters Martina Vera and Josephina Diaz, Nieces Sylvia Castillo and Megan Diaz, Nephews Elijah Franklin and Jake Aldridge, Great-nephew Andren Skau and Great-niece Paityn Skau.
