Feliciano "Chano" H. Cavazos Obituary

Feliciano “Chano” H. Cavazos, 82, passed away on April 18,  2025 in Corpus Christi, Texas surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 23, 1942, in Mathis, Texas to Jose and Leonor (Hernandez) Cavazos. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp and had served during the Vietnam War. He was also a longtime member of  V.F.W. Post 9170 in Beeville. He retired from Naval Air Station Kingsville after 34 years as a dedicated civil service employee. 


     He is preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Leonor Cavazos; one sister, Eva Cavazos Roberts; a niece, Delilah Balboa and his sister-in-law, Oralia Flores Cavazos.


     He is survived by his wife, Eva Cavazos and two sons, Philip (Cindy) Cavazos and Gary (Marie Frances) Cavazos; two brothers, David Cavazos and Baldemar (Beatriz) Cavazos. He also leaves behind his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law and several grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.


     Visitation will be held from 3-8 pm on Wednesday, April 23, at Oak Park Memorial Funeral Chapel. A rosary will be held at 7 pm. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 am on Thursday, April 24, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church with Fr. Isaias Estepa as celebrant. Interment with full military honors will be held at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery in Corpus Christi, Texas at 10am on Friday, April 25.
