It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mrs. Eva Garcia, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who departed this life surrounded by her loved ones. Eva was born and raised in Beeville, where she cultivated a life filled with love, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to her family and community.
Eva was the cherished wife of Oliver Garcia and a devoted mother to her four children: Jamie, Maricella, Maria (Grant Harris), and Sonia. Her nurturing spirit and boundless love extended to her grandchildren, Paisley Grace Garcia, David Issac Cantu (Valerie Salazar), Mya Rene Vela, Misty Rihanna Vela, Oliver Leonardo Campos, Romeo Paul Ybarra, Caleb Anthony Martinez, Jayden Anthony Martinez, Mckenzie Jade Martinez, and Xzidyn Harris, whom she adored deeply. Eva was also blessed with a great-grandchild, Alden Asher Cantu, who brought an extra layer of joy to her life.
In her professional life, Eva dedicated 11 years to BCAA before embracing her most treasured role as a homemaker. She found immense pleasure in shopping, visiting with friends, and most importantly, spending time with her grandchildren. Her warm and generous nature made her a beloved figure in the community and a constant source of support and joy for her family.
Eva was preceded in death by her parents, Ismeal Martinez and Olivia Carrizales Martinez, her sisters, Lina Guzman and Olivia Balboa, and her brother, Adam Martinez. She is survived by her siblings, Alicia Johnson, Ismeal Martinez Jr. (Sylvia), and Aurela (Jose "Pepe" Torres from Florida), as well as numerous nieces and nephews, who will continue to cherish her memory and the profound impact she had on their lives.
Eva's life was a testament to the power of love, family, and community. Her warmth, kindness, and unwavering dedication to her loved ones will be deeply missed but never forgotten. As we celebrate her life, we find solace in the countless beautiful memories she leaves behind.
A visitation to honor Eva's life will be held from 3-8 pm on Wednesday, July 24, at Oak Park Memorial Funeral Chapel. A rosary will be recited at 7 pm with Deacon Roger Rosenbaum officiating. Friends and family are invited to gather in remembrance and celebration of her remarkable life.
