Eugenia (Quena) Carrizales passed away at her daughter’s home in Corpus Christi, Texas on Thursday December 22,2022. She was a dedicated mother, aunt, and friend. She was born in Normanna, Texas on August 16, 1947, to the late Juan and Juanita Carrizales Jr. She was one of thirteen children and the last to survive amongst her siblings. She graduated from Pettus High school, and later continued her education in Bee County College as a Dental Hygienist, to which she devoted most of her life too. She worked for Dr. David H Rhoden from 1972-1981 in Waco, Tx. She also worked for the Corpus Christi Health Department from 1983-1988 and then the State of Texas in Austin from 1988-2008. And lastly, she was employed with Cool Smiles from 2008-2017 where she retired. She is survived by her two children Jennie Marie (Hilario) Rodriguez Jr and Manuel C. Salinas III. As well as her two Grand pups Zero and Tiny whom she loved dearly. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and two sisters-in-law, Mary and Paz Carrizales.
She enjoyed dancing, watching movies, traveling and being with family and friends while enjoying her favorite drink; margaritas and a shot of tequila.
She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Juan (Alcaria) Carrizales Jr, Carlos (Angelica) Carrizales Sr., Ascencion (Chon) Carrizales, Domingo (Mingo) Carrizales, Dionisio Carrizales, Refugia Carrizales, Otilia Martinez, Victoria Jasso, Virginia Perez, Olivia Martinez, Margarita Martinez, and Juanita (Antonio) Abrantes.
A visitation will be held from 3-8 pm on Thursday, Dec. 29, at Oak Park Memorial Funeral Chapel. A prayer service will be held at 7 pm with Rev. Ram Garza. Interment will be held at a later date.
