Ernesto Benavidez, Jr., 63, passed away on July 8, 2024, in San Antonio, Texas. He was born in Beeville, Texas on April 9, 1961, to Ernesto and Benancia (Hinojosa) Benavidez. He married Rebecca Keller on June 1, 1985, in Tuleta, Texas. He worked in the transportation industry as a truck driver.
He is preceded in death by his son, Teofilo Benavidez III and one brother, Teofilo Benavidez.
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Keller Benavidez; parents, Ernesto D. Benavidez, Sr. and Benancia Hinojosa Benavidez; son, Raymond Keller Benavidez; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Ann Benavidez; grandson, Raymond Keller Benavidez, Jr.; granddaughters, Josalynn Ray Benavidez and Violet Ann Benavidez; grandson, Sebastien Ray Benavidez; son, Ernesto Benavidez, III; grandson, Christopher Benavidez; daughter, Crystal Ann Benavidez; son-in-law, Jesus P. Garcia; granddaughter, Rilley May Gonzales; grandson, Ryan Jayce Garcia; granddaughter, Jennifer Lynn Garcia; grandsons, Jared Adam Garcia and Jayden Matthew Garcia; son, Joseph Andrew Benavidez; daughter, Abigail Rose Benavidez; nieces, Jessica Neighbors and Monica Scroggins and sister-in-law, Rhonda Benavidez.
A visitation will be held from 3-8 pm on Tuesday, July 16, at Oak Park Memorial Funeral Chapel. A rosary will be recited at 7 pm with Deacon Santos Jones reciting. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 am on Wednesday, July 17, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Fr. Richard Gutierrez as celebrant. Interment will follow at the Benavidez Family Cemetery in Tuleta, Texas.
Serving as pallbearers are Raymond Keller Benavidez, Joseph Andrew Benavidez, Crystal Ann Benavidez Garcia, Jesus P. Garcia, Jacob Carabajal, Raymond Keller Benavidez, III, Juan Casarez and Joseph Henry Munoz.
