Eloise Wylie Houlihan went to be with the Lord on April 7, 2024. Eloise was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She passed away peacefully in Corpus Christi, Texas, at the age of 98. Eloise was born on June 18, 1925, in Palestine, Texas, to Loyd Wylie and May Etta Brooks Wylie.
She was predeceased by her husband, Charles L. Houlihan and one sister, Etheline Wylie.
Eloise is survived by her three children, Cheryl A. Jackson, Debra A. Houlihan (Dennis) and Loyd Edward Houlihan (Deborah); her five grandchildren, Jason Houlihan, Clark A. Houlihan, Clair Houlihan, Charles P. Clark (Luci) and Heather R. Vasquez (Edward); two great grandchildren, Moira, and Finnegan Clark. She is also survived by a nephew, Egan Stelzer (Janice) and one niece, Jana L. Robinson.
Eloise was a dedicated career educator, and after retirement, enjoyed acting as a docent on the USS Lexington in Corpus Christi, Texas
A visitation will be held from 9:00-10:00 am, on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church in Orange Grove, Texas. A rosary will be recited at 10:00 am followed by the celebration of the funeral mass at 10:30 am with Fr. Patrick Donohoe as celebrant. Interment will follow at the Gussettville Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers are Egan Stelzer, Al Vasquez, Charles P. Clark, Jason Houlihan, Clark A. Houlihan, Edward Vasquez, Gus Vasquez, and Rick Vasquez.
