Eddie D. Rojas, a devoted father, grandfather, and man of deep faith, passed away on December 3, 2024, at the age of 70.
Born on February 16, 1954, Eddie grew up in a small home in Beeville, Texas, which shaped his down-to-earth values and his love for family and community. The son of Erasmo Rojas and Mary DeRusse, Eddie was preceded in death by his brother Erasmo Jr., his parents, and his beloved wife, Nancy Rojas. He is survived by his children, Nikki Rojas and Mark Rojas and his wife Halley, and two cherished grandchildren, Eli and Elsie, along with siblings Yolanda Lozano, Ernest Rojas, Mary Holme, Rachel Martin, Connie Byard, extended family, and friends.
Eddie dedicated over two decades of his career as a counselor at Coastal Bend College, helping countless students find their paths in life. He also spent several years working with elementary students at the FBC church school, where he inspired young minds with his love for learning and life.
His retirement years were filled with purpose as Eddie's passion for the gospel continued to grow. He often traveled across Bee County to preach and teach at local churches. His love for Jesus Christ and his conviction that “the fields are white for harvest” defined his life’s mission to bring light to the darkness and stir people into action.
Eddie’s big smile could light up a room, and nobody was a stranger to him. His warmth and kindness made him a beloved friend and neighbor to many. Whether on the golf course, at church, or in everyday conversations, Eddie left a legacy of encouragement, love, and hope in Christ.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 6, 2024, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Oak Park Memorial Funeral Chapel. A memorial service will follow on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Beeville, Texas.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude for your prayers and support during this time.
