Edward (Eddie) G. Herrera

     Edward “Eddie” G. Herrera, 57, passed away on May 29, 2024, in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on October 16, 1966, to Guadalupe and Sophia (Guzman) Herrera, Sr.

     Eddie was a graduate of A.C. Jones High School and member of St. James Catholic Church. He had worked for Ranch Hand in Beeville, Texas. He loved listening to music while cruising in his treasured red Ford pickup truck. Eddie touched countless lives with his kindness and leaves behind many beautiful memories for us to cherish.

     He is preceded in death by his parents, Guadalupe Herrera, Sr. and Sophia Guzman Barrera; brother, Abran Herrera; one sister, Jennifer Lynn Barrera; maternal grandparents, Tomasita and Eugenio Guzman and paternal grandparents, Erlinda and Luis Herrera.

     He is survived by three sons, Fabian Cortez, Jake Edward Herrera, and Abran Herrera; six brothers, Guadalupe “Luper” Herrera, Jr., Joe Luis Herrera, Juan Manuel (Janie) Herrera, Jerry (Kayla) Herrera, Guadalupe Altamirano, and Jose (Malorie) Ramos; three sisters, Rosalinda Herrera, Melissa Herrera, and Marisol (Vanessa) Herrera. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

     A visitation will be held from 3-8 pm on Wednesday, June 12, at Oak Park Memorial Funeral Chapel. A rosary will be recited at 7 pm. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 am on Thursday, June 13, at St. James Catholic Church with Fr. Jacob Valayath as celebrant. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Victory Cemetery #2.

     Serving as pallbearers are Randy Benavides, Porfirio Espinoza, Joseph Garza, Joe Allen Herrera, Jose Ramos, and Robert Serna.

     Honorary pallbearers are his loving nieces and nephews.
