Debra Sandoval Velasco, 60, passed away on November 7, 2024. She was born on February 7, 1964, in Beeville, Texas to Bernando and Ruth (Luna) Sandoval, Jr. She worked for the Texas Health and Human Services Department as an outreach coordinator for the Texas Star Plus Program.
Debra loved family, celebrations (especially birthdays, and everyone had to have cake), helping others, and spreading happiness. Her infectious smile and friendly nature will be missed by all.
She is preceded in death by her father, Bernie Sandoval, Jr. and grandmothers, Guadalupe M. Sandoval and Hore Luna.
She is survived by her mother, Ruth L. Sandoval; one sister, Sandra (Willie) Keller; her brother, Bernie (Amy) Sandoval III; husband, Noe Velasco; daughter, Valerie Velasco; one precious granddaughter, Layla Rae Phillips; six nephews, Ryan, Andrew and Alex Keller, Jason, Matthew and Nicholas Sandoval and one niece, Lindsey Sandoval.
A visitation will be held at 9:00 am on Tuesday, November 12, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. The holy rosary will be held at 10:00 am followed by the celebration of the funeral mass at 10:30 with Fr. Pete Elizardo as celebrant. Cremation services will follow.
Serving as pallbearers are Ryan Keller, Andrew Keller, Alex Keller, Jason Sandoval, Matthew Sandoval, Nicholas Sandoval, Emo Aleman and Gabriel Aleman.
