David Gonzales, known by many as the "Frito-Man", passed peacefully in his sleep on October 24, 2025. David was a cherished partner, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, great grandfather, and loyal friend. We'll love and miss him until we reunite one day.
David, a longtime resident of Beeville, was born March 1, 1945, in Corpus Christi, Texas to Joaquin and Adela Gonzales.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joaquin and Adela Gonzales; one brother, Daniel Gonzales; two sisters, Cristela (Augustine) Alaniz and Enedina “Nina” Vela.
Survivors include his companion, Catherine “Cathy” Carter; his four children, David Gonzales, Jr., Asennet Gonzales, Angela (Forest) Kelly, and Amy (Rick) Villarreal; three sisters, Andrea (David) Maes, Emma Gonzales and Sylvia (Frank) Padilla; and one brother, Lupe Gonzales; nine grandchildren, Samantha "Sam", Andrew, Alexandria "Alex", Christian (Ciara), Victoria "Tori", Marc (Tori), Isabelle "Belle", Eric, and Liliana "Lily"; two great grandsons, Ryan and Colton; one great granddaughter, Olivia; Cathy's two children, Kenneth "Ken" (Shannon) Carter and Stephanie (Andrew) Hodges; three grandchildren, Crystan, Taylor, and Samantha; and three great grandchildren, Zoey, Heath and Alice.
A Holy Rosary and Celebration of Life Service will be recited at 1 p.m. Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Oak Park Memorial Funeral Chapel. Private cremation services to follow at a later date.
