David Barrera

BEEVILLE - David Barrera, 47, of Beeville, died Saturday, August 26, 2023, in Beeville, Texas. Mr. Barrera was born on May 5, 1976, in Beeville, Texas to Arturo and Linda (Herrera) Barrera. He had worked in the oilfield industry. 

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Jose and Dora Barrera and Luis and Herlinda Herrera; two brothers, Frankie Barrera, and Arturo "Gallo" Barrera Jr.; his son, David Barrera Jr.; nephew, Joe Moya; niece, Clarice Jolee Barrera and brother-in-law, Margarito "Pepe" Keller.                 

Survivors include his parents, Arturo and Linda Barrera; two brothers, Leroy Barrera and Joseph Barrera, both of Beeville; five sisters, Belinda Barrera Moya of Kenner, Louisiana, Anna (Donny) Deal, Dora Barrera, Crystal (Bryan) Ramsey and Priscilla (Rey Hernandez) Barrera, all of Beeville; three daughters; Clarissa (Joshua ) Rosales of Victoria, Cheyenne Barrera of Beeville, and Desiree (Emilio) Hernandez of Victoria; one son, Roman Mancias of Victoria; his grandchildren; Noralynn, Caleb, Carlito, Raegan, Ryatt, Adrina, and Julian. He is also survived by 15 nephews, 9 nieces, 2 great-nephews and 6 great-nieces.    

A visitation will be held from 3-8 pm on Thursday, Sept. 7, at Oak Park Memorial Funeral Chapel. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 8, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church with Father Jacob Valayath as celebrant. A burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Victoria, Texas.                             

Serving as pallbearers will be Leroy Barrera, Joseph Barrera, Roman Mancias, Frank Ochoa, Joe Blake Kohlman, Fernando Rivas, Donny Deal, Bryan Ramsey and Jordan Keller.                       

Honorary pallbearers are David Lopez, David Gonzalez, Tonya Hernandez, Byron Barrera, BJ Barrera, Benjamin Barrera, Jeremiah Barrera, Margarito Keller, Diamond Keller, Adden Ramsey, Allen Ramsey, Nicole Ramsey, Haley Deal, Harley Deal, Samantha Rivas, Anthony Barrera and Angelo Barrera.
