Daniel Farias Vargas, 82, passed away on August 31, 2024, in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Abel Vargas, Sr. and Filomena Farias Vargas; one daughter, Ramona Kurtz and three brothers, Lionel Vargas, David Vargas and Abel Vargas, Jr.
Daniel honorably served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War, where he was stationed in Thailand as a military dog trainer. After his discharge, he was a deputy sheriff in Rockport, Texas for several years. Following this service, he was a plant operator in Rockport and La Porte, Texas for 39 years. Daniel loved to watch western movies, but above all, he adored his wife, Helga, whom he was married to for 58 beautiful years. Daniel was an amazing provider, who always put his family first. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife, Helga Tebbe Vargas; sons, Thomas Tebbe and Miguel Vargas; daughter, Sabina Butler (Michael); sister, Elodia Soliz; grandchildren, Nicole Longoria, Jason Vargas and Isenia Vargas and great grandchildren, Nathan, Nicholas and Noriah Longoria.
A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on November 1, 2024, at Oak Park Memorial Funeral Chapel in Beeville, Texas. Rendering of full military honors will follow by the United States Air Force and Bee County Honor Guard.
