BEEVILLE – Cassandra Diane Silva Hawkins was born August 19, 1985, in Ft. Worth, Texas. She left this earthly life on Sunday, December 3, at Harbor Hospice in Portland, Texas. She was 38 years old.
Cassandra attended Beeville public schools. She also attended Coastal Bend College earning an associate degree. She attended Mary Hardin Baylor University in Belton, Texas and later transferred to Texas A&M University in Corpus Christi, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology. She worked as a counselor with Human Resources. As her illness progressed, she did online editing for college students research projects using her skills and passion for writing.
Mourning her loss are her three daughters, Audria Novelle Diem, Davin Aura Shayne, Verity Karter Rockelle, and her husband, Casey Hawkins. She is also survived by her mother, Yoland Olivares Silva; sister, Cristianna Dawn; her aunts, Anita Castillo, Elia Alvarado, and Grace Ramirez; uncle, Amado Silva, and a host of cousins. Casandra was preceded in death by her father, David Silva and her uncle, John Marks Silva.
A visitation will be held from 9-11 am on Saturday, Dec. 9, at Oak Park Memorial Funeral Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 11 am with Rev. Kaymon Noble officiating. Special music will be provided by Nikki Rojas.
