Carolina Ojeda Longoria
March 5, 1931- July 16, 2025
Carolina “Nina” Ojeda Longoria was a much-loved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She retired from The Beeville Independent School District after decades of service, to pursue her interests, which primarily include spending time with her grand- and great-grandchildren, gardening and playing BINGO. Carolina’s surviving children are her Yolanda de la Garza and Enrique "Henry" Longoria III. Her last remaining sister, Teresa Ojeda Chapa, preceded her in death by a mere 2 weeks. Other lost loved ones include her husband (Enrique “Pachiro” Longoria II), an infant daughter (Solvera Longoria), two sons (Ruben and Abel Longoria), and a granddaughter (Isabella Longoria Craig).
She leaves behind 11 grandchildren,12 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren as well as a large extended family by marriage.
Grandchildren: Arnold Wayne de la Garza, Melissa Ann de la Garza, Cecelia “Cissy" de la Garza (2 children, 3 grandchildren), Edward Longoria (3 children), Abel Longoria, Christina Longoria (1 child), Guadalupe “Wally” de la Garza Jr., Shelly Lynn Longoria, Jennifer Enciso (6 children), Illianna Longoria (1 child) and Enrique “Ricky” Longoria IV
As the passage of time continues to claim members of The Greatest Generation, those of us who remain should treasure their memory and strive to emulate their core values of strong work ethic, an understanding of right and wrong and devotion to God and family. Embarking on her journey to Heaven, Carolina leaves this earth short a much-needed angel. Go in peace Grandma Nina; your long search for Pachiro is over.
Visitation will be held from 3-8 pm on Friday, July 25, at Oak Park Memorial Funeral Chapel. A rosary will be recited at 7 pm. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 am on Saturday, July 26, at St. James Catholic Church with Fr. Jacob Valayath as celebrant. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Victory Cemetery #2.
Serving as pallbearers are Arnold de la Garza, Abel Longoria, Tyler Adams, Cian Reagan, Oscar Carillo and Reyas W. Garcia.
