BEEVILLE – Bernabe Rey “Benny” Puente, 67, died on Jan. 5, 2019. He was born on Jan. 6, 1951 in San Angelo, Tx to the late Domingo Ignacio and Bonifacia (Solis) Puente. He married Viola Rincon on Aug. 23, 1974. He was a retired educator from the TDCJ Windham School District.

He is survived by his wife, Viola R. Puente of Beeville; one son, Benny Rey (Valerie) Puente, Jr of Beeville; one daughter, Anna Lisa (Sammy) Trevino of Beeville; one brother, Domingo “Mingo” (Rene) Puente of Rockport, Tx; one sister, Frances D. Puente of Beeville, Tx. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Lynnissa ReyAnn Puente, Bethany Alyse Mirabal, Titus Jordan Puente and Bonnie LeAnn Trevino.

Visitation will begin at 5pm on Wednesday, Jan. 9, at New Hope Christian Church. A prayer service will be recited at 7pm. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Jan. 10, at 10am with Pastors Salvador Rincon and Jessie Berthold officiating. Interment will follow at Beeville Memorial Park.

Serving as pallbearers are Hector Rincon, Jaime Rincon, Pastor Salvador Rincon, Mitch Elliott, Artie Flores, Jason Perez, Titus Puente and Hector Martinez.
