AUDELIO LONGORIA SALAZAR
Passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 27, 2024, in his sleep surrounded by his loving family.
Audelio was born in Three Rivers, Texas on January 5, 1941. He met his one true love, Margaret G. Salazar, in Three Rivers and they married in 1957. As a newlywed he worked with the Texas Department of Transportation before embarking on a lifelong career in the oil and gas industry. He started his career in the oil and gas industry in the early 70’s in Corpus Christi, TX with Coastal States Gas Corporation and Shoreline Lease Services, LLC. In 1981 he founded S & S Construction Company and A. Salazar & Sons Construction, and he continued his work in the oil and gas industry as an independent contractor throughout Texas until he retired in 2017.
Audelio cherished his family. His greatest joys were the achievements and accomplishments of his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He loved spending time with family and enjoyed raising cattle and being outdoors tending to his animals. He was a life-long parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Three Rivers.
Audelio was preceded in death by his mother, Beatrice; father, Audelio Salazar, Sr.; brothers, Maximilliano (Max), Albert, and Onesimo Salazar; sister, Eugenia Roberts; his beloved wife, Margaret Garza Salazar and daughter Margarita Salazar. Left to cherish his memories are his daughter Sonia Carrera (Tom) and her three daughters, Amanda, Andrea, and Briana; son, Roland Salazar and his two children, Christopher and Crystal; daughter, Norma Teague and her daughter Meghan; daughter, Velma Salazar-Fraley (Paul) and her daughter Alexis; son, Arnold Salazar (Soledad) and his two daughters Allie and Abbie; numerous great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; sister, Beatrice Garza; brother Pete Salazar; extended family and many friends that he always enjoyed seeing and visiting with.
We will miss you Daddy but know you are with Our Father and Jesus in heaven and reunited with mom, your parents, brothers and sister. You will continue to live in our hearts throughout our lives.
The family would like to thank Live Oak Nursing Center and Choice Hospice of Corpus Christi, Texas for their continued care and support. We appreciate all you did for our father.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 30, 2024, at 6:00pm with a rosary following at 7:00pm at St. George Catholic Church in George West, Tx. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, July 1, 2024, at 9:00am at St. George Catholic Church with Fr. Romeo Salinas as celebrant. The committal service will be held after the funeral service at Three Rivers Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers are Rolando Salazar, Christopher Salazar, Ruben Salazar, Gavin Chapa, Zak Chapa and A J Perales. Honorary pallbearers are Thomas Carrera and Paul Fraley.
