Andrea Ninfa (Cantu) Gonzales, 88, also known as Pina or Grammy to many, passed away peacefully in her sleep surrounded by three daughters and her sister on June 15, 2024. She was born on November 11, 1935, in Beeville, Texas to Manuel and Dolores (Mendez) Cantu. She had worked for many years as a Ward Clerk at Beeville Memorial Hospital and had retired as a Restorative Aide from Hillside Nursing Home and Rehab.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Manuel and Dolores Cantu; one brother, Manuel (Pepe) Cantu; a granddaughter, Celia Gonzales, one grandson, Rolando A. Moncada and a great grandson, Hayden A. Garza.
She is survived by her children, Norma Jean Garza (Yrineo), Orpha Linda Anzaldua (John), Jaime Gonzales, Jena Elizabeth Guerrero (Angel), and Gloria Ann Skau (Julian); one sister, Elizabeth Rodriguez (Joe Richard); nieces, Pamela Rodriguez Garcia, Claudia Rodriguez Hammer, Toni Cantu Martinez, and Dolores Cantu; nephews, J.R. Rodriguez and Manuel Cantu and ex son-in-law, Michael P. Skau. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.
A visitation will be held at 10 am on Friday, June 21, at Oak Park Memorial Funeral Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 2:30 pm with Pastor Salvador Rincon officiating. Interment will follow at Beeville Memorial Park Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers are Sergio A Moncada, Jr., Javier Y. Garza, Michael P. Skau II, Joe Richard Rodriguez, Jr., David O. Rodriguez, Jr., and Jullian C. Castillo.
Honorary pallbearers are Garrett M. Skau, Jacobo O. Garza, and Jorge A. Garza.
