Amado Martinez, Jr., 64, passed away on January 17, 2025. He was born on June 22, 1960, in Mathis, Texas to Amado and Antonia (Licona) Martinez. He worked for the R H Ranch in Goliad County and had also worked for May Fab for 21 years, the May Ranch and had worked in the oil field industry.
He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Manuel, Ricardo and Matthew Martinez; one son, Nickolas Lamb and a sister, Diana Martinez.
He is survived by one son, Amado (Skye Rosalez) Martinez III of Beeville; his daughter, Jessi Enola Martinez of Marble Falls; step-son, Jeremy Byrd of Marble Falls; granddaughter, Allison Rosalez-Garces of Mathis; three brothers, George (Debra) Martinez of Beeville, Antonio (Irene) Martinez of Goliad and Enrique Martinez of Lagarto; three sisters, Estella (Jesse) Lane of George West, Amanda Deaver of Lagarto and Maggie Martinez of Skidmore. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 3-8 pm on Friday, Jan. 24, at Oak Park Memorial Funeral Chapel. A rosary will be recited at 7 pm. Funeral services will be held at 10 am on Saturday, Jan. 25, at Oak Park Funeral Chapel with Deacon Santos Jones officiating. Interment will follow at the Lagarto Cemetery in Live Oak County, Texas.
Serving as pallbearers are Damian Martinez, Thomas Martinez, Joseph Martinez, Gabriel Martinez, Daniel Quintanilla and Christopher Perez.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jeremy Byrd, Antonio Martinez, George Martinez, Enrique Martinez, Estella Lane, Amanda Deaver, Maggie Martinez, Jesse Lane and Charles Smith.
