Adela "Dee Dee" Vargas Casarez

BEEVILLE – Adela “DeeDee” V. Casarez, 73, passed away on February 10, 2023. She was born on July 18, 1949, in La Mesa, Texas to Ignacio and Olivia (Casares) Vargas. She married Higinio Casarez on December 5, 1966, in Beeville, Texas. She had worked as a ranch hand most of her life.

     She is preceded in death by her parents, Ignacio and Olivia Vargas and one brother, Gilbert Vargas .

     She is survived by her husband, Higinio Casarez of Beeville; one daughter, Gina Dee (Matthew) Henry of Beeville; her son, Higinio Chris (Lora Jean) Casarez of Beeville; one sister, Lidia Gonzales of San Antonio and one brother, Adolfo Vargas of New Braunfels, Texas. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

     A visitation will be held from 3-8 pm on Thursday, Feb. 23, at Oak Park Memorial Funeral Chapel. A rosary will be recited at 7 pm. Funeral services will be held at 10 am on Friday, Feb. 24, at Oak Park Memorial with Deacon Santos Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Victory Cemetery #2.

    Serving as pallbearers are Paul Charles Dancer II, Higinio Christopher Joe Casarez, Raul Casarez, Jr, Mariano A Casarez, Sarah Elaine Ramirez, Devin Z. Casarez, Clancey Bryan Casarez, and Atreyu C. Casarez.

     Honorary pallbearers are Axyle K. Casarez, David De La Rosa, Ginobili Tapia, Tony Ortiz Jr, and Gary Gonzales.
