Ysaias "Cha" Guerrero Obituary

BEEVILLE –Ysaias A. “Cha” Guerrero, 75, of Beeville, died on Sept. 1, 2018. He was born in Beeville, Tx on March 13, 1943 to Antonino and Isabel (Arrisola) Guerrero. He married Maria Elena Maldonado on Mar. 17, 1962 in Beeville, Tx. He was retired from Beeville I.S.D.

    He was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Priscilla Guerrero and one brother, Francisco “Tony” Guerrero.

    He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Maria Elena Guerrero of Beeville; one daughter, Melinda (Richard) Puentes of Beeville; two sons, Ysaias Guerrero, Jr. of Seattle, WA and Richard (Karen) Guerrero of Beeville; three brothers, Wally Guerrero of Houston, Tx, Tony “Nine” (JoAnn) Guerrero of Colorado Springs, CO and Carlos (Sylvia) Guerrero of Beeville; three sisters, Irene (Ken) Tonn of Dimebox, Tx, Adelaida (David) Longoria of Beeville, Tx. and Juanita Wilkerson of Austin, Tx. He is also survived by five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

    Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 5, from 3-9pm at Oak Park Memorial Funeral Chapel. A rosary will be recited at 7pm. The body of Mr. Guerrero will lie in state at 9am Thursday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10am with Fr. Richard Gonzales officiating. Burial will follow at the Our Lady of Victory Cemetery #2.

    Serving as pallbearers are Alec Puentes, Bryan Munoz, Johnny Joe Barrera, Anthony Puentes, Isaiah Rosales and Andy Arredondo. Honorary pallbearers are Roland Hernandez, Benny Hernandez, Ricardo Puentes, Jeremiah Garza, Alex Maldonado, Daniel Guerrero, Tony Guerrero, Manuel Moreno Jr., Robert Hernandez, Artie Martinez III, Victor Maldonado and Ray Sanders.
