Wilford Clark Sparks

BEEVILLE – Wilford Clark Sparks, 98, of Beeville, passed away on May 30, 2019. He was born on Aug. 18, 1920 in Nacogdoches, Tx to the late Clark and Virgie (Noble) Sparks. He married Cordelia Alena Staples on April 17, 1942 in Corpus Christi, Tx. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a retired oilfield worker.

He was preceded in death by his son, Wilford Lee Sparks.

He is survived by his wife, Cordelia Alena Staples Sparks of Beeville; one daughter, Janet (Bill) Andrews of Houston, Tx; daughter-in-law, Patsy Henry Sparks of Beeville; five grandchildren, Terri (John) Cornett, Kevin Lee (Cindy) Sparks, Cherri (Chuck) McCurry, William Kenton (Amy) Andrews, Jr. and Colin Barret Andrews. He is also survived by eight great grandchildren, Brandy Sparks, Jakob Sparks, Travis (Jodie) Cornett, Ethan (Brooke) Cornett, Colton Cornett, Bridget Cornett, William Andrews and Colette Andrews; and five great great grandchildren, Louise, Joey, Ruby and Delilah Cornett and Madison Cole.

Visitation will be held from 5:30 – 8:00 pm on Friday, June 7, at Oak Park Memorial Funeral Chapel. Chapel services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, June 8, with Mr. Bill Andrews officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow at Glenwood Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers are Kevin Lee Sparks, W. Kenton Andrews, Jr., Colin Andrews, Travis Cornett, Ethan Cornett, Colton Cornett, Jakob Sparks and Chuck McCurry. Honorary pallbearers are Bridget Cornett, Brandy Sparks and Johnny Cornett.

A reception will be held at the Beeville Diner immediately following the graveside services.
