Roman Martinez Obituary

BEEVILLE – Roman G. Martinez, 68, of Beeville, died on June 15, 2018. He was born on Nov. 26, 1949 in Beeville, Tx to Delfino and Amanda (Gutierrez) Martinez. He married Micaela Montez on June 18, 1968 in Beeville, Tx. He was a retired correctional officer with the Texas Dept. of Corrections in Beeville.

            He is preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Mary Lou Webb; a granddaughter, Maria Lucia Martinez and a grandson, John Dylan Dominguez.

            He is survived by his wife, Micaela M. Martinez of Beeville; two sons, Roman (Bernice) Martinez, Jr. and Freddy M. (Andrea Arredondo) Martinez, Sr.; six daughters, Sandra Martinez, Rose Mary (Faustino) Gonzales, Amanda Martinez, Ann Marie (Jesus Ramirez) Martinez, Veronica (Cruz) Ybarra and Alexandra Marie Benavidez all of Beeville, Tx; three sisters, Sylvia Martinez and Amelia Syster both of Beeville, Tx and Ernestina Salazar of Yoakum, Tx. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

            Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 19, from 3-9pm at Oak Park Memorial Funeral Chapel. A rosary will be recited at 7pm. The body of Mr. Martinez will lie in state at 9am on Wednesday, June 20, at Our Lady of Victory Church. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10am with Fr. Lukose Thirunelliparambil officiating. Interment will follow at the Our Lady of Victory Cemetery #2. Serving as pallbearers are Roman Martinez, Jr., Jesse Ramirez, Cruz Ybarra, Joel Casas, Gilbert Martinez and Freddy Martinez. Under the direction of Oak Park Memorial Funeral Chapel
