Guadalupe "Lupe" Almendarez

Beeville – Guadalupe “Lupe” Almendarez, 73, of Beeville, died on April 20, 2019. She was born on July 23, 1945 in Tilden, Tx to Dolores (Lolo) and Desideria (Chalella) (Serrate) Garcia. She married Victoriano Almendarez, Jr. on June 14, 1969 in Tilden, Tx. She had worked as a caretaker all of her life.

            She is preceded in death by parents; one son, Victor Almendarez; great grandson, Wyatt Ryan “Nemo” Hinojosa and one sister, Elena Huerta.

            She is survived by her husband, Victoriano Almendarez, Jr. of Beeville, Tx; two sons, Richard Almendarez and Raymond (Virginia) Almendarez of Beeville; three daughters, Lori (Roland) Camareno of Corpus Christi, Tx, Dolores (Russell) Hinojosa and Yolanda (Joe) Benavides both of Beeville, Tx. She is also survived by two sisters, two brothers, 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

            Visitation will be held from 5-9 pm on Wednesday, April 24, at Oak Park Memorial Funeral Chapel. A rosary will be recited at 7 pm. The body of Mrs. Almendarez will lie in state at 9 am on Thursday, Apr. 25, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 am with Fr. Lukose Thirunelliparambil officiating. Interment will follow at the Waldheim Cemetery in Tynan, Tx.

            Serving as pallbearers are Russell Hinojosa, Jr, Tyler Wayne Carroll, Austin Ray Reeves, Caleb James Camareno, Raymond Victor Almendarez and Joseph Anthony “Lupe” Benavides.

            Honorary pallbearers are Taylor Reeves, Bailey Carbajal, Victoria Gomez, Riana Almendarez, Vanessa Francis and Steven Mafrige.
