Guadalupe G. Abrigo

TULETA – Guadalupe G. Abrigo, 68, of Tuleta, died on July 31, 2019. He was born on May 14, 1951 in Normanna, Tx to Tomas and Maria (Garza) Abrigo. He was a retired backhoe operator for Smith Services of Refugio, Tx.

            He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Guadalupe Abrigo, Jr and Sammy Lee Abrigo; three brothers, Robert G. Abrigo, Felix Abrigo and Manuel Benavidez.

            He is survived by his children, Mary (Jesse Gomez) of Beeville, Yolanda (Israel Charles) of Tuleta, Danny Abrigo (Michelle) of Skidmore, Cynthia (Roland Jaure) of Beeville, Angie (Santos Villarreal, Jr) of Victoria, Minnie Reyes of Tuleta and Felix Abrigo of Beeville; sisters, Maria Luisa (Melvin) of San Antonio, Tomasita Benavidez of Tuleta, Gloria (Jesse Torres) of Pettus, Linda (Francisco Medina) of Houston, Jimmy (Corina) of Normanna, David (Becky) of Houston,Tomas Abrigo of Normanna and Janet Abrigo of Normanna. He is also survived by 24 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

            Visitation will be held from 3-9 pm on Sunday, Aug. 4, at Oak Park Memorial Funeral Chapel. A rosary will recited at 7 pm. The body of Mr. Abrigo will lie in repose at 9 am Monday, August 5, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pettus, Tx. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 am with Fr. Jacob Valayath officiating. Interment will follow at the Abrigo Cemetery in Normanna, Texas.

            Serving as pallbearers are Israel Charles, Jr, Julian Charles, Daniel L. Gomez, Jose L. Vargas, III, Jesse Gutierrez, Jr. Daniel Abrigo, Jr, Joseph Tenerias, Juanito Padron Garcia and Carlos Reyes, Jr.

            Honorary pallbearers are Brandon Herrera, Abram Herrera, Danny Abrigo, Jesse Gomez, Israel Charles, Roland Jaure, Jeremiah Gomez, David Abrigo, Tomas Abrigo and Jimmy Abrigo.
